At the New York International Auto Show (April 19-28), Nissan unveils the all-wheel-drive GT-R Nismo in terms of weight, aerodynamics and performance - along with the Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition, the Japanese automaker celebrates its long tradition in the construction of super sports cars.
As the most potent representative of the series, the GT-R Nismo differs from its sister models not least by the use of carbon fiber: It can be found in the bumpers front and rear, the front fenders, the hood, the roof, the sill covers, the boot lid and the rear spoiler. All components have been improved in terms of weight, downforce and aerodynamics.

The modified exterior parts alone brought a weight saving of 10.5 kilograms, further upgrades and new components save an additional 20 kilograms. The front fenders are now similar to those of the GT3 GT-R. Thanks to a new process, the carbon fiber roof is made of a particularly light and dense fabric.
Lighter than before are the exclusive 20-inch forged aluminum rim rims. The new Dunlop tires increase footprint by eleven percent with wider tread and fewer grooves. This is to improve the cornering behavior and the steering feedback, as well as reduce rolling movements. Modifications to the suspension increase cornering stability and ride comfort. The steering should respond more evenly and precisely.
As engine remains the 3.8-liter bi-turbo V6, which is assembled by hand by a Takumi master. He now makes 600 hp. The exclusive turbocharger design of the GT3 race car has a modified turbine shape and fewer blades, which optimizes flow and improves response by 20 percent. The combined consumption according to WLTP is 13.5 liters.
The revised six-speed dual-clutch transmission has an improved R-mode for faster gear changes and optimized gear selection, especially at the corner exit. The adaptive shift control makes it possible to adapt the shift behavior to the preferences of the driver and to the respective driving conditions.
The GT-R Nismo features Brembo carbon ceramic discs - 410 mm front and 390 mm rear - and Brembo brake calipers in light yellow livery that withstand temperatures of more than 1000 degrees Celsius.
The jubilee model GT-R 50th Anniversary is launched in a livery that alludes to the successful career of the sports car in the Japanese GP series. For the first time since the GT-R R34 Bayside (Wangan) Blue, who has been supplemented with white racing stripes, returns. Blue color accents are also found on the spokes.
Features of the edition model are a special design for steering wheel and gear knob, embossing on the seats, an Alcantara headliner with contrasting stitching and Alcantara sun visors.
The 570 hp 3.8-liter bi-turbo V6 receives new turbochargers, which should improve the response of the engine in lower speeds. The reason is an abrasion-resistant seal, which reduces the distances and increases efficiency by five percent. The race-inspired intake manifolds have optimized mounting points for the turbofan, making maintenance and tuning easier. The typical GT-R sound guarantees a new silencer made of titanium with polished blue tailpipes.
The GT-R 50th Anniversary also features a revised six-speed dual-clutch gearbox with optimized "R Mode." The electronic suspension control has also been re-tuned.The steering wheel is equipped with paddles that allow a quick change of gears in the middle of the curve Model Nissan GT-R 2020 is equipped with the integrated Nissan Connect infotainment and navigation system.
